Reading stories and comments, search, themes, and saved stories work without signing in. Google or Apple sign-in is only needed for a LevelUp account to use AI summaries and manage credits.

Swipe up for the next story, down for the previous story, left for comments, and right for an AI summary. The buttons below the card do the same things. Tap the bookmark to save a story on this device.

Use the view toggle in the feed header. To choose the view the app opens with, go to Settings → Reading → Default view and select Cards or List. The header toggle changes the current session.

Open Settings → Appearance and choose Light, Dark, Midnight, or Sepia. You can also choose System to follow your device’s light or dark appearance.

Tap the search icon in the feed header, enter a keyword, and select a date range to narrow the results. Search is powered by Hacker News Search (Algolia).

One credit is used when a new summary opens successfully. Failed summaries and preloading do not use credits. Previously unlocked summaries remain available without another charge, even when your balance is zero. Credits do not expire.

Check that you are signed in to the same LevelUp account used for the purchase, then use Sync purchases on the AI credits screen. A pending payment may need to finish processing first. If the balance still looks wrong, email us with your app version, platform, and store order reference. Never send passwords or payment card details.

Saved stories are stored on your device. They remain when you sign out of LevelUp and do not sync between devices. Saving a story does not download the full article for offline reading.
