1. Acceptance of Terms

By using LevelUp for Hacker News (“the app”), published by Hemant Chaudhary, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. User Conduct

Use the app responsibly and follow applicable laws. Do not:

  • Access accounts or systems without permission.
  • Disrupt the app, spread malicious code, or bypass payment or usage limits.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where permitted by law.

3. Hacker News Content

LevelUp is an independent reader, not affiliated with Hacker News or Y Combinator. We are not responsible for third-party content or availability. External services have their own terms and policies.

4. Your Account

Browsing is available without an account. Sign in with Google or Apple to use AI summaries and credits. Keep your account secure. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data and Account & Data to request deletion.

5. Content and Child Safety

Child sexual abuse and exploitation content and behavior are prohibited. Report Hacker News content to [email protected]. For concerns involving LevelUp, contact [email protected].

6. AI Summaries and In-App Purchases

  • AI summaries are for information only and may contain errors. Check the original article for accuracy.
  • Opening a new summary successfully uses one credit. Failed summaries are not charged, and unlocked summaries can be reopened for free.
  • Credits do not expire, but access depends on account and service availability. Deleting your account ends access to its credits and unlocked summaries.
  • Additional credits can be purchased in the app through Apple or Google.
  • Refunds follow Apple’s or Google’s policies and applicable consumer law.

7. Intellectual Property

The app’s original design, code, and features belong to Hemant Chaudhary or their licensors. Third-party content belongs to its respective owners.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hemant Chaudhary is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. These terms do not limit rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hemant Chaudhary from claims arising from your use of the app or violation of these terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, violations of these terms, security concerns, or legal requirements. You may stop using the app at any time.

12. Governing Law and Changes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to mandatory protections where you live. We may update these terms and will publish changes on this page.
